Lush’s Ocean Salt Face Scrub

Have you ever spent a day at the beach, just chillin’ in the ocean? Some people say the ocean wrecks their skin / hair, and I call them liars because I spent my late teens years glued to a surfboard, and my skin and nails never looked better. Why do you think saltwater pools are so popular? Salt helps draws all the impurities out of your skin, and Lush’s Ocean Salt Scrub is a surf sesh for your skin in a bottle. The results I ended up with remind me of how awesome my skin was back then – just stupid healthy, glowing, and revitalized.

New Favorite Site: MonthlyInfo.com

Every month, just like every other healthy beauty junkie out there, I get my period. Sometimes its a little less than a month, sometimes a bit more. The point is: it happens. Regularly.

To most of us, at least. And quite honestly, its a pain in the ass to track. I used to write it down on my calendar, but I had one of those tear-away ones, and I’d usually forget the day I wrote it down and couldn’t reference back to it because the previous month had been ripped off and thrown away. Not so smart. Then I discovered this amazing site, MonthlyInfo.com

Paul Mitchell’s Lavender Mint Collection

Paul Mitchell has been a mainstay in the hair industry umm since like, forever? Ever since I’ve been alive, that’s for sure! And he’s got lines within lines, that’s how famous and awesome this line is. The Tea Tree Oil line also carries the Lavender Mint scent, which admittedly doesn’t sound all that appetizing but I recently had the chance to try it, so let me tell you – awesomeeee.

Portico Spa: The Hedonist & The Refiner

Thanks to their PR rep, I recently had a chance to try out some Portico Spa products. Portico is an “eco-friendly, multi-sensory spa range with both natural and organic experiences, inspired by 3 aromatic experiences: Watery/Cool (Cucumber & Grapefruit), Sparkling/Citrus (Blood Orange & Jasmine), and Warm/Sultry (Amber & Olivewood). I’m usually a sucker for warm fragrances, but I only tried the Cucumber/Grapefruit and Blood Orange/Jasmine this time – trying to branch out.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from So Much Pretty! I know I’ve been behind on posts lately – so much has been going on (ugh, holidays). I will be putting up the rest of the “25 Days of Christmas” Giveaways by the end of the week, and if you’ve won a previous giveaway, please allow 6-8 weeks to receive your prize! If you haven’t received anything by February, please feel free to e-mail. Otherwise, I can’t help you out before then.

I’ve made a New Year’s resolution to laugh more, stress less, and simply enjoy the gorgeous whirlwind known as as life. I could be a better blogger, but honestly, I am not going to stress out about not posting every day (I don’t always have access to a laptop. Eep!).

In the next few weeks, please be on the lookout for tons of surprises for the blog. Can’t wait to have an awesome 2010 with you!

Day 25 of Christmas: The Business of Being Beautiful

Merry Christmas! Finally, after 25 days of a hot holiday mess of giveaways, this one features everything a beauty junkie could ever dream of having – no joke. It’s the BIG ONE. And if you don’t believe in beauty miracles, you’d better start. I know tons of people believe in the “New Year, New You!” jive (Personally, I’m a “Change your shoes, change your life!” kinda gal) and that’s what we’re doing hair. Tons and tons of gorgeous, amazing, awesome, too-legit make-up, skincare, haircare, and nailcare products to help you start the new year off with a bang, pop, and hell yeah. Don’t believe in beauty miracles? The SCOPE THIS LIST!

Day 24 of Christmas: Skin1 By Dr. Gram

Skin1. What does it mean? Put your skin first! Do it! Check it: Skin 1 by Dr. Gram is a professional apothecary skincare line which believes in one basic philosophy: treat your skin with love. ‘Cause that’s all you need: love. And maybe some glycolic acid.

Okay, seriously. After over a decade of experience as a compounding pharmacist, Dr. Gram introduces his Skin1 line that targets specific skin types and has adjusted formulas for different stages in life. In addition, every products contains his trademarked “Nutra-Vit Complex,” a top-secret potent cocktail of anti-oxidants, skin rejuvenators, and moisturizers. And get this, the line is organic, natural, eco-friendly, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and now, free to 2 of you! Wow, THAT was a mouthful!

Day 23 of Christmas: Mariah Carey

Oh, Christmas. The time of year when fragrance sets (and the vendors aka spray girls) are ABOUND. I think it’s a great. You get more bang for your buck and you can try many different fragrances at once, depending on the type of set you get. And maybe you need a new fragrance, or have your old favorite standby. Or maybe you’re just dying to know how Mariah Carey’s Fragrances are!

Day 22 of Christmas: Tonic Haircare

OMG TONIC! Yes, yes, yes, on So Much Pretty we are huge, huge, gigantic, bigger than life fans of Tonic Haircare. Why? Because it’s super awesome 5000! A small, boutique brand that’s targeted towards beach bums and snow bunnies, it’s run by one woman out of her La Jolla bedroom!

Day 21 of Christmas: Seche

Oh, Seche Vite. French for “Dry Fast,” and, contrary to popular belief, actually pronounced “Sesh Vite” (not Se-chay Veetay, like I’ve heard some say), it is probably the top-selling top-coat of all time. And hey, for good reason. All the nail salons, nail bloggers, and nail magazines la-la-love it, and I know a celebrity manicurist or 2 who refuses to live without it (especially during New York Fashion Week!)
